Howard Meisner

Howard began rowing at Buckingham, Browne, and Nichols school on the Charles River in Cambridge as a middle-school student in 1987. He competed all through high school and then went on to row at Carnegie Mellon University for four years while earning his BS in Information Systems. After graduation, Howard returned to the Boston area and rowed with the competitive men’s program at CRI for 3 years and built his skills rowing his single. In 1998 he moved to Cincinnati Ohio and joined the Cincinnati Rowing Club where he held positions on the board of directors as the regatta director and president of the club. Howard was licensed as USRowing Referee in 2000 and has officiated at all levels of regattas from regional youth competitions to national collegiate championships including the NCAA and IRA. Howard returned to the Northeast in 2012 and has been the Northeast Regional Referee Coordinator since 2014, responsible for the scheduling and training of over 150 referees and candidates. Howard continues to row his single happily whenever the weather and referee schedule permit.
